Colorado Peke and Poms Rescue, Inc. is creating a network of volunteers in all regions of Colorado to help transport and foster our Precious Personalities until they are placed into their forever homes.
Our Precious Personalities come from local shelters or private homes where the owner can no longer care for their dog. Our goal is to be able to take in all of these precious dogs and find them the home they deserve. Without volunteers, we will not be able to achieve that goal. If you have an hour a month or 40 hours a week to volunteer to help these dogs, we would love to hear from you!
The following are ways you can make a difference by helping these Precious Personalities.
Fostering: Of course this is one of our most valuable volunteer positions. Without safe, loving homes to stay while these little ones await the perfect home, we would not be able to take in all of the dogs we are asked to take in to rescue. Offering your love and home to temporarily give these little ones a place to stay is a gift you and they will never forget. You will have saved a life. Many times people are not ready to adopt a permanent dog into their family, offering to foster a dog can give you the opportunity to enjoy the company of a furry friend. It is also a wonderful way to honor a pet you have lost, to give a home to a dog who has never known the care that you gave your loved pet while they await the forever loving home they deserve.
Transportation: Help us transport dogs who are in need of coming into our rescue program, from shelters or their previous family; or help with transporting a dog to vet appointments or a foster home.
Home Visits: Visiting the home of applicants to check to see if the home is appropriate for a Precious Personality and what type of dog might do best there.
Fundraising and Events: Help us with ideas and fundraising events to help benefit the Precious Personalities by donations, exposure for our rescue group as an alternative to a pet store, back yard breeder, or shelters. We want to get the word out that there is a rescue group where they can find a wonderful companion.
Other ideas: We would love to hear from you if you have other ideas and talents that would help us take care of these little ones who need a new wonderful life.
