Colorado Peke and Pom Rescue, Inc. has created a network of volunteers in all regions of Colorado to help transport and foster its Precious Personalities (adoptable dogs) until they are placed into forever homes.
Our Precious Personalities come from local shelters, private homes, vet offices and as strays. Our goal is to be able to take in all of these precious dogs and find them the homes they deserve. Without volunteers, we will not be able to achieve that goal. Whether you have just 1 hour a month or 40 hours a week to volunteer and help change the world for these little dogs, we would love to hear from you!
There are many ways in which you can help make a difference in the lives of our Precious Personalities including Home Visits, Transportation, Fund Raising and Events, Administrative Tasks, and Fostering.
If you are interested in volunteering with CPPR, please complete the on-line Volunteer Application, or download the PDF application.
You can also call the hotline: (303) 681-2512.
Following are ways you can make a difference in the lives of our Precious Personalities:
Help us transport dogs from a shelter to a foster home, or from a foster home to a vet appointment or adoption event.
Visit the home of applicants to see if the home is appropriate for a Precious Personality … and what type of dog might do best there. CPPR has a checklist for easy use.
Fund Raising and Events
CPPR promotes awareness and adoptions by having adoption events at local stores such as Petsmart and Petco, as well as at larger advertised local events such as the Peoples Fair, etc. This is a fun way to help the Rescue by handing out literature, walking dogs, and sharing the Rescue's mission with interested parties.
We’re constantly exploring ways to increase awareness of our Rescue and raise funds for much-needed veterinary care, emergency surgeries, etc. Volunteers are always needed to help with fund raising events, assist with mailers, and come up with fun and unique ways to get the word out. Have a great idea and the ability to help implement it? We’d love to hear from you!
The rescue is in need of people who know how to write newsletters (only 4 a year), create brochures and flyers for special purposes, or assist with general dog-related paperwork.
Of course this is one of our most valuable volunteer positions. Without safe, loving homes to stay in while these little ones await the perfect home, we would not be able to take in all of the dogs we are asked to take in to rescue. We do not have a kennel or boarding facility; offering your love and home temporarily to give these little ones a place to stay is a gift you—and they—will never forget. You will have saved a life. Many times people are not ready to permanently adopt a dog into their family. Offering to foster a dog provides you the opportunity to enjoy the company of a furry friend on a temporary basis. It is also a wonderful way to honor a pet you have lost … to give a home to a dog—who has never known the kind of care that you gave your beloved pet—while they await the loving forever home that they, too, deserve.
